Description An account of the resource ABSTRACT (xi + 47 Pages + 2 Tables + 6 Attachments) Low Birth Weight (LBW) is a baby born with a body weight of less than 2500 grams regardless of gestational age. Data on cases of babies experiencing LBW at the Lere Community Health Center in 2022 is 33 cases. The aim of this research is to determine the factors associated with low birth weight (LBW) babies in the Lere Community Health Center Working Area, Palu City in 2022. This research is a retrospective analytical study with a case control research design. The population in this study was 478 mothers giving birth in the Lere Community Health Center area, Palu City. The total sample was 99 respondents. This sampling technique included babies who experienced LBW plus some babies who were born with normal weight but had almost the same characteristics as those who experienced LBW. This research was carried out from 20 to 23 August 2023. The results of bivariate analysis on maternal age were P value (0.041) with an Odds ratio of 4.160, Maternal nutritional status during pregnancy was P value (0.000) with an Odds ratio of 61.875, Parity was P value (0.136) with an Odds ratio of 2.228 and Education was P value ( 0.013) with an odds ratio of 6.171. The conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship between maternal age, maternal nutritional status during pregnancy, and education. Parity is not related to the incidence of LBW in the Lere Community Health Center working area, Palu City. Researchers hope that the Lere Community Health Center can improve the quality of services, provide information, and reduce the birth rate of Low Birth Weight (LBW) babies.
